Description
This poster, on the theme of Empowerment in Learning Technology, will introduce conference participants to the Student Curriculum Design Panel. This panel, which has completed its pilot year, comprises 461 distance learning students who have volunteered to take part in activities such as workshops, surveys, and various kinds of usability and experience testing. The interaction is intended to mimic face-to-face student-teacher informal discussions.
The poster demonstrates the opportunities explored and challenges experienced, and will offer up some key lessons learned and tips for implementation. In keeping with the conference call, Beyond Islands of Innovation, participants will receive a poster handout with an activity designed to demonstrate the relevance of the panel concept in any institution, and they will be able to share this online via social media, building connections and community through engagement.
