Bio: Learning & Teaching Development Manager for Learning Design, working as part of the OU’s Technology Enhanced Learning team within the Learning and Teaching Innovation portfolio. As well as a strong interest in learning design, technology-enhanced learning and student engagement, Katharine has extensive experience of curriculum development in digital and information literacy. Previous work includes the OU’s Digital & information literacy framework, the award-winning Being digital collection, and Succeeding in a digital world, the OU’s free digital literacy course aimed at developing learners’ confidence and skills for life online. Current work includes the IDEAS project, using OU Learning Design approaches and tools to evaluate and learn from selected University of South Africa (UNISA) modules. Katharine is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice.
