Annual Conference 2019…social programme announced!

We are delighted to announce the ALT Annual Conference social programme for 2019. As well as a packed programme of sessions at the Conference, we are also looking forward to offering you an array of social events throughout the Conference week.

The pre-conference events start on Monday, with the ‘Launching the European Maturity Model for Blended Education (EMBED)’ workshop, taking place at Appleton Tower between 14:00 – 17:30. This event is free to attend, but places are limited, so register your space here.

We have also reserved an area of the Greenmantle Bar & Kitchen (44 W Crosscauseway, Edinburgh EH8 9JP), close by to the University on Monday evening for attendees arriving before the start of the conference to be able to gather for an informal meet up. Greenmantle are kindly offering our conference attendees a 10% discount with your conference badge. Another good reason to go to pre-conference registration!

To round of the first day of the Conference on Tuesday, there will be a drinks reception in the Exhibition Hall, McEwan Hall, with the option to join a walking tour, which will be leaving from the McEwan Hall entrance at 18:30. Should you wish to carry on the day’s conversations, The Peartree (38 W Nicolson St, Edinburgh EH8 9DD) have a space reserved for an informal meet up and are kindly offering a 20% discount on food and drinks orders when you show your conference badge.

The Learning Technologist of the Year Awards and the main conference social will take place on Wednesday evening. You will be able to enjoy a drinks reception in the Exhibition Hall, followed at 18:30 by the Learning Technologist of the Year Awards in McEwan Hall. After the Awards Ceremony we will move to Teviot Row House for a Scottish themed Conference Socal including three course dinner, ceilidh, and a wee dram.

After the final day of the Conference, there will be a reception in Edinburgh University Library and Collections – a chance to look at some ancient and modern edtech from our archives. Details to follow shortly for those staying in Edinburgh on Thursday evening.
