As part of the build up for the ALT Annual Conference 2019, which takes place in Edinburgh on the 3-5 September, Sue Beckingham, one of our conference keynotes was joined by Maren Deepwell and Martin Hawksey to speak to John Johnstone one of the hosts of EDUtalk.
EDUtalk is organised by David Noble (@parslad) and John Johnston (@johnjohnston), and the shows are designed to encourage people to talk about and discuss education, using mobile and web technologies. We are also delighted to have EDUtalk as one of our Media Partners.
As part of the conversation with John we discussed the origins of the conference title ‘Data, Dialogue and Doing’, which our co-chair Louise Jones has also written about in the guest post ‘Discovering the ‘Data Dialogue and Doing’.
As part of the conversation with John we also got a brief preview of Sue’s keynote, in particular, we discussed the impact of social media in education. As part of this we highlighted some of the conference sessions that are going to be live streamed and the ways the community could engage with the conference remotely like the #altc Twitter hashtag.
To listen to the conversation in full visit the Radio EDUtalk website, where you can also find out how you can subscribe for information about upcoming shows.
For those interested in attending the conference in person registration is still open until the 16 August and tickets are available for the entire conference or single days. ALT Members can also still benefit from a 20% on the standard rate. If you are interested in attending visit our registration page.
