Preparing for the ALT Annual Conference 2019
The ALT Annual Conference 2019 is now less than three weeks away, so excitement is building and final preparations are well under way. We look forward to welcoming you to the Conference in Edinburgh, 3-5 September. If you haven’t yet secured your place, remember that registration closes tomorrow at midnight (Friday 16 August).
With over 150 sessions to choose from over the three days, if you can, take some time before the Conference to consider what you would like to see. Planning your time over each day will help you to get the most out of the Conference and prioritise the sessions you can’t bear to miss. On arrival to the venue, you will receive a printed copy of the Programme, which contains the timetable for the Conference, as well as other useful information. Prior to this, our Programme will help you plan your sessions easily, and we update any late programme changes on our website too. You can also use the website to follow sessions and network and connect with other participants, and don’t forget to use the #altc hashtag during the event to tweet your experiences and see what others are planning to attend.
Early Conference registration will be open from 17:00-19:00 on Monday 2 September. Grab your badges to receive discounted food and drink at our monday meetup venue. Registration is open each day from 08:30-09:30 during the conference. At registration, you will be given a Conference Guide as well as a Conference badge. Please wear your badge throughout the conference.
There is also a packed social programme which has just been announced. We have social events taking place right through the Conference week, starting with pre-conference activities on Monday. Between 14:00-17:00 is a workshop ‘Launching the European Maturity Model for Blended Education (EMBED)’. Registration for this event is free (if you are not attending the conference you are still welcome to register to attend). To find out more about EMBED and to register visit go.alt.ac.uk/EMBEDReg. This is followed by an informal meet up at local pub, Greenmantle Bar and Kitchen to network with other delegates who have arrived early. Please see our Social Programme for all the details of events happening throughout the week.
For any last minute travel plans, you can visit our Travel Information section on our website, which gives detailed information on getting to and from the Conference, as well as around Edinburgh. There is also handy information on local car parking facilities. If you are still looking to book your accommodation, we have secured some great discounts through Edinburgh First. See our website for more information and for booking codes.
We look forward to seeing you in Edinburgh!
