Pre-Conference event & meet up – Monday, 2 September
There is a free Pre-Conference Workshop taking place on Monday, ‘Launching the European Maturity Model for Blended Education (EMBED)’ , in Appleton Tower between 14:00 – 17:30. Visit the conference website for more information, or to register.
We have reserved an area of the Greenmantle Bar & Kitchen (44 W Crosscauseway, Edinburgh EH8 9JP), close by to the University on Monday evening for attendees arriving before the start of the conference to be able to gather for an informal meet up. Greenmantle are kindly offering our conference attendees a 10% discount with your conference badge. Another good reason to go to pre-conference registration!
Drinks reception, walking tour and meet up – Tuesday, 3 September
On Tuesday evening there will be a drinks reception in the Exhibition Hall, McEwan Hall immediately following the close of the day’s programme and then the option to join a walking tour with Edinburgh Tour Guides, which will be leaving from the McEwan Hall entrance at 18:30. Should you wish to carry on the day’s conversations, The Peartree (38 W Nicolson St, Edinburgh EH8 9DD) have a space reserved for an informal meet up and are kindly offering a 20% discount on food and drinks orders when you show your conference badge.
Gala Evening and Awards Ceremony – Wednesday, 4 September
The Learning Technologist of the Year Awards and the Gala Evening will take place on Wednesday evening. Immediately following the close of the conference programme, all attendees will be able to enjoy a drinks reception in the Exhibition Hall. At 18:30 the Learning Technologist of the Year Awards will take place in McEwan Hall Auditorium. After the Awards Ceremony we will move to Teviot Row House for a Scottish themed Conference Social including three course dinner, ceilidh and a wee dram. Please note that unless otherwise pre-arranged, only full-conference tickets, Wednesday tickets and Sponsors passes include access to the Awards Ceremony and Gala Evening.
Post-conference get together – Thursday, 5 September
For those staying in Edinburgh on Thursday evening, we hope to organise a reception hosted by Edinburgh University Library and Collections. It’s a short distance from McEwan Hall, if the weather is good we will have access to the roof terrace with beautiful views and Rachel Hosker, Deputy Head of Special Collections and Archives Manager will give us tour of some of the most interesting edtech-related items from the University Archives.
