Conference website and programme
The conference has a dedicated website and we encourage you to browse the conference timetable before attending by viewing our interactive programme (please note that login is required).
Attending in person? You will receive a printed ‘Room Finder’ which will direct you to the breakout rooms for your chosen sessions. Download the ‘Room Finder’ PDF.
The dedicated website also includes features to help you plan your conference. The website is publicly accessible, to use the advanced features you need to login using your ALT Membership or conference registration credentials. If you did not register yourself or don’t know your username you can request a new password/username at https://www.alt.ac.uk/user/password and if you require further assistance you can email helpdesk@alt.ac.uk or access the Helpdesk in Discord (please get the link from the emailed joining instructions).
Please check you can log in before the event to ensure passwords can be reset if necessary. For more guidance on using the website and its interactive features visit our help page.

Information for hybrid delegates
Registration
The Registration Desk is within University Place on the ground floor named ‘The Drum’.
Registration will be open from 11:00 on Tuesday 6 September. Registration is open from 08:15-09:30 during the conference. Please wear your badge throughout the conference (you are liable to be challenged by conference helpers, University staff, or ALT personnel if you do not wear it).
Travel & Accommodation
The Annual Conference takes place at the University of Manchester, University Place, Oxford Road, M13 9PL. The main campus is close to the city centre. You can find directions and venue and travel information on the conference website. Please note that rail strikes are currently occurring within England. Check the route that your ticket is valid for.
Manchester has a wealth of accommodation, a list of which has been compiled on the platform.
Getting connected at #altc – WiFi details
Internet access is provided throughout the conference venue. This is a shared service so please be mindful of usage and avoid downloading large attachments or using video streaming services. Details on gaining WiFi access are included below
Guest Wifi (UoM WiFi)
Delegates are entitled to free WiFi access on the University of Manchester network.
Eduroam
The venue is covered by the Eduroam service. Eduroam is restricted to authorised institutions. If you have not used this service before please check with your host institution’s IT department regarding availability and any pre-setup requirements.

Mobility or other requirements
University of Manchester, University Place, is fully accessible. If you have not previously notified us of any mobility, sensory, or access requirements, please contact a member of the conference team as soon as possible at conferences@alt.ac.uk
Special Dietary Requirements
If you have informed us of a special dietary requirement this information has been passed to our venue catering team.
Conference venue
The University of Manchester will have a separate serving station for those with specific dietary requirements – please provide your surname on arrival at EATs Restaurant. If you require any assistance ALT and University of Manchester staff will be happy to help.

Code of conduct
ALT is dedicated to providing a harassment free conference experience for everyone. We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form and we ask you to be courteous and considerate to your fellow attendees. We appreciate you may not agree with the ideas or views expressed by others and whilst we encourage debate we remind you that these discussions should remain civilised. By attending this event you are also bound by the regulations and code of conduct of the venue. Participants violating any of these rules will be expelled from the event without refund.
