A bit about me:

I am the strategy and technical lead for EdShare – an open digital content platform for teaching and learning materials built on the open source software EPrints.  I work with our EdShare customers and members of the wider community to support open education and determine how EdShare can adapt to best suit the needs of teachers and learners and in particular working in open spaces.

I am also a member of the University of Southampton Digital Education Working Group, discussing and setting policy and priority work areas in support of digital education at our institution.

I have a combined technical and digital education background, with an undergraduate degree in Computer Science and professional career at IBM.  In 2014 I completed my MSc in Digital Education with University of Edinburgh.  I’ve been working in my current team at University of Southampton for 10 years, and prior to this was a senior manager of a learning support department in the NHS.

I joined the Open Ed SIG in 2016 after popping along to the SIG meetup at ALTC2016 in Warwick.  I  saw it as a great opportunity to network with others and share my expertise and skills for benefit of the group and its mission.  I’m currently Co-Chair of the group, supporting our fantastic chair Teresa MacKinnon.

I love cats, x-files and am partial to a bit of Star Wars and Marvel.
