Baixauli <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wooclap <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;Wooclap allows you to add a touch of blended learning into your classes with a range of interactive questioning tools. It&#8217;s really easy to use with an accessible interface for both teachers and learners. All learners need is their phone (or any device, really) and access to the internet &#8211; no apps involved! Learners don&#8217;t need to log in (but you can set it up so they need to if you choose). It has loads (20+) of question\u00a0types for immediate feedback during your lesson and it&#8217;s great for assessment for learning. My favourites are word\u00a0cloud, wheel spinner, brainstorm, matching and the gap fill. I particularly like the\u00a0&#8216;create quick question&#8217; feature which\u00a0allows you to set up a question off the cuff in super quick time live during a session. You can even embed the\u00a0questions into your existing presentations so the questioning is seamless!&#8221;<\/p>\n<cite>Chlo\u00eb Hynes, AmplifyFE Community Space Lead and FE Practitioner<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The background<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Launched in 2015 by Jonathan Alzetta and S\u00e9bastien Lebbe, engineers from the \u00c9cole<br>Polytechnique de Bruxelles, Wooclap emerged from a passion for education and technology.<br>Recognising the growing challenge teachers faced in maintaining student attention, they<br>developed a neuroscience-based tool designed to enhance engagement and focus. The participating institutions competed in nine categories, highlighting the various ways to use  interactive technologies to engage students during and after classes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>University of Edinburgh<\/strong> stood out in the international competition and won the gold medal in the <strong><em>Versatile Champions<\/em><\/strong> category, rewarding teachers for their use of various interactive questions such as Find on Image, Fill-in-the-Blanks, and many others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/altc.alt.ac.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1112\/2024\/08\/Find-on-Image.png?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"720\" height=\"388\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/altc.alt.ac.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1112\/2024\/08\/Find-on-Image.png?resize=720%2C388&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"An example 'find on image' question in Wooclap displaying a map. The previous tool we used didn&#8217;t have as many.
