{"id":2292,"date":"2013-02-26T15:30:36","date_gmt":"2013-02-26T15:30:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newsletter.alt.ac.uk\/?p=2292"},"modified":"2013-02-26T15:30:36","modified_gmt":"2013-02-26T15:30:36","slug":"chief-executives-report-3-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/altc.alt.ac.uk\/blog\/2013\/02\/chief-executives-report-3-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Chief Executive\u2019s Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Open Course in Technology Enhanced Learning &#8211; ocTEL<\/h2>\n<p>Led by a group of ALT Members, work is underway to develop ocTEL, ALT\u2019s first MOOC, on Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL). Starting in mid-April, the course\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 13px\">will cover eleven weeks structured around key issues such as engaging learners, designing and delivering TEL and assessing impact. Designed so that participants can engage flexibly with the course activities and materials, using primarily Open Educational Resources (OERs) and Open Access publications, data created will be curated openly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The project also aims to provide outputs of lessons learnt about designing, supporting and sustaining open courses at scale, contributing a new perspective to the growing body of work in this area.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To register and for further information, visit <a title=\"Link to ocTEL website\" href=\"http:\/\/ocTEL.alt.ac.uk\">http:\/\/ocTEL.alt.ac.uk<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>OER13<\/h2>\n<p>ALT is a partner for the OER13 conference, 26-27 March, supporting the ALT Open Education SIG. The conference is going to examine new research and developments of Open Education Resources under the theme of \u201cCreating a Virtuous Circle\u201d. This year\u2019s theme, Building new cultures of learning, is going to enable participants to engage with the key issues that are shaping and disrupting our current learning landscape, including the impact of big data, new global and massive learning practices and working in partnership with learners.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Registration for the conference will open in late March.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a title=\"Link to conference web page\" href=\"http:\/\/www.alt.ac.uk\/altc2013\">http:\/\/www.alt.ac.uk\/altc2013<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Special Issue on Digital Scholarship and Digital Literacies<\/h2>\n<p>Following the recent launch of the 2012 Special Issue on Digital Inclusion, the call for the 2013 Special Issue of <em>Research in Learning Technology <\/em>(RLT), is now open.
