Always a friendly and welcoming event we are delighted that some of the contributors have given up their time to meet us online to give us a flavour of what will be happening. Joining the conversation from around the world we will hear from one of the conference co-chairs, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/villaronrubia\">Daniel Villar-Onrubia<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/oer20.oerconf.org\/#gref\"> <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jimgroom\">Jim Groom<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MiaZamoraPhD\">Mia Zamora<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ammienoot\">Anne-Marie Scott<\/a> and more! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-medium\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" height=\"300\" width=\"300\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/altc.alt.ac.uk\/oesig\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1119\/2020\/02\/oer20-300x300.png?resize=300%2C300&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"OER20 conference logo\" class=\"wp-image-668\" \/><figcaption><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/OERConf\">#oer20<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The theme for the conference this year is: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Care in Openness<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Covering issues of privilege, equity, precarity, power relations and public interest, OER20 will put the spotlight on both the value and limitations of care in open education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Care is a means for social transformation when it is rooted in actual practices and mechanisms that guarantee its redistribution towards a lasting social reorganisation (ZEMOS98, 2019). But in the age of data surveillance and significant risk on the open web, how can we map out and give visibility to the critical component of care practices?
