{"id":7604,"date":"2018-12-17T10:00:07","date_gmt":"2018-12-17T10:00:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/altc.alt.ac.uk\/blog\/?p=7604"},"modified":"2023-01-04T15:45:44","modified_gmt":"2023-01-04T15:45:44","slug":"m25-ltg-november-2018-learning-design-workshop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/altc.alt.ac.uk\/blog\/2018\/12\/m25-ltg-november-2018-learning-design-workshop\/","title":{"rendered":"M25-LTG November 2018 Learning Design Workshop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I had the privilege to deliver a <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/UEL_CELT\/status\/1063405875229089792\">workshop on Learning Design<\/a> to 20 members of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alt.ac.uk\/about-alt\/special-interest-and-members-groups\/m25-lt-group\">M25 Learning Technology Group (LTG)<\/a> on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.co.uk\/e\/learning-design-workshop-m25-tickets-50957613594\">Friday 16 November 2018<\/a> at City, University of London.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop was sponsored by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alt.ac.uk\/\">Association for Learning Technology<\/a> (ALT), &nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.city.ac.uk\/\">City, University of London<\/a>: <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/julievoce\">@julievoce<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uel.ac.uk\/\">University of East of London<\/a>: <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/santanuvasant\">@santanuvasant<\/a> &nbsp;and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cegdigital.co.uk\/\">Cambridge Education Group Digital<\/a>: <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CegDigital\">@CegDigital<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The workshop involved all attendees applying the <a href=\"https:\/\/codesignssite.wordpress.com\/\">CoDesignS framework<\/a> (Morton et al 2016; Toro-Troconis &amp; Aleksiev, 2018; Toro-Troconis et al, 2016), focusing on one of the key aspects of the framework, which involves the use of Bloom\u2019s Taxonomy of Learning Domains (Bloom, 1956). The Learning Domains guide the selection of the right pedagogic activity and technical tools.<\/p>\n<p>The video below introduces the Learning Domains and presents ways of designing online, blended and face to face activities, based on the principles of the taxonomy. The Learning Design Bootcamp starts in April 2019, finishing in July 2019. It also shows how this sample of Learning Technologists across London has already had experience in the design of blended and online learning courses. The majority of the universities represented in the workshop seem to have embraced Learning Design at a strategic level.
