María Soledad Ramírez-Montoya is a research professor at the School of Humanities and Education of the Tecnologico de Monterrey. She focuses her activities on the dynamisation of initiatives for education, with innovation, research and global sense, as a means of social transformation and impact for lifelong learning and sustainable development.
She coordinates the Interdisciplinary Research Group Scaling Reasoning for Complexity for All of the Institute for the Future of Education, with the implementation of training systems supported by Open Science and Technology 4.0 strategies, linked to projects that apply the quadruple helix (university-industry-government-civil sector) and solutions for sustainable development.
As Coordinator of the UNESCO Chair: “Open Education Movement for Latin America”, she mobilises training, production and research initiatives for open education. As Coordinator of the International Council for Open of Distance Education (ICDE) “OER Latin America”, she promotes activities with research teams to enrich access practices in distance education. As a member of the Open Education Global Council, she promotes training and research activities in open science.
In academic activities Dr. Ramírez-Montoya trains talent for education with emphasis on innovation, educational entrepreneurship and multidisciplinary research; she leads interdisciplinary research groups establishing rich experiences for the generation of knowledge, inspired by teamwork, social responsibility and collaborative work with national and international networks.
