Description
During summer 2015 we worked with our Nursing programme to move their VLE delivery from a single site for all their teaching content, to individual module sites linked to the student records system. As learning technologists, we were able to provide guidance, training and support to the team to help facilitate the change during a relatively short timeframe. A site template was developed that included automated elements, such as reading lists. The module site approach offers a more consistent experience for students; whilst services can provide better support. The new approach ensures that students can now access via the mobile app and are not overwhelmed by irrelevant notifications. A separate programme site is used solely for core information, newsworthy items, job opportunities, Twitter feeds, and not for teaching. Despite initial concerns, the reception has been overwhelmingly positive and we are now working with colleagues from other departments to transform their practice too.
Proposed Artifact: A PebblePad webfolio page including videos, text and screenshots
