Description
Engaging with social media affords students a rich ecology in which they can express themselves by both learning through others’ experiences and developing broader personal narratives. Cultural, technical and professional practices inform how we develop digital spaces for our students to present these stories of their learning journey. Portfolios currently support the collation of evidence and enable establishment of the whole person: Integrating the wealth of storytelling that social media harnesses into a portfolio context enables both digital literacies and personal storytelling to develop.
We invite participation in our Tweet Chat on the subject of “Social Storytelling for Portfolio Development”. The conversation will be developed into digital artefacts ahead of a forthcoming participatory workshop; a set of guidelines will subsequently be presented for integrating social media within portfolios for evidencing learning.
