Description
This webinar will provide an update on works which have been taking place over the past 12 months on EdShare at the University of Southampton. EdShare (http://www.eprints.org/edshare) was created in 2009 as part of a Jisc funded institutional exemplars research project and received a major upgrade in late 2015 to ensure its future sustainability. EdShare is running behind a number of well established educational resources sites including edShare@GCU, EdShare Southampton, eShare, Humbox, LanguageBox and with two further institutional instances due to launch soon. Whilst open educational resources (OERs) is at the forefront of the EdShare solution, it also provides completely flexibility for content which must remain closed to a local audience.
During last years ALT Online Winter Conference the Introduction to EdShare session focused on providing attendees with some basic familiarity with the platform. This session will focus on the future and provide details on our intention to provide add-on services to the community via edshare.ac.uk which has been launched as a information and services access portal to all things EdShare.
It is the intention that part of the session be given over to attendees to ask questions about EdShare, and in particular stimulate discussion about gaining institutional support for systems which enable sharing teaching and learning resources, both open and closed.
