Description
An increasing level of assessment in HE today is carried out through the use of e-portfolios such as Pebblepad or Mahala. However, the nature of most of these portfolios is that students submit completed work and this offers little chance for students to receive and react to developmental feedback. Over the last three years, the English Language Teaching Centre at the University of Sheffield has developed a system based around cloud documents and automation tools that allows teachers and students on the pre-sessional English course to interact on documents as they’re in progress, promoting a dialogic feedback loop that allows for student development and gives the teacher a means to track it. The result is a system that allows us to quickly produce and manage access to documents for 1600+ students. This webinar will give an overview of the project and the opportunities and obstacles such a project presents to both teachers and students, with time for questions and answers.
