Description
Microsoft OneNote is an incredibly versatile, but underutilised tool and is free for use in education, available on all mobile platforms and can work offline.Add-ins such as Class Notebook and Learning Tools greatly extend the functionality of the software and provide a rich suite of tools for education and accessibility.Class Notebooks also integrate with many systems, such as Canvas LMS, making features such as setting assignments directly from Class Notebook into the LMS a time-saving possibility.
Tutors can add documents, links, videos and other content such as Sway presentations into the Content Library for students – a read-only section for resources. Group work and discussions can be conducted in the Collaboration Space, a place where tutors and students can share ideas and collaborate. Not only can OneNote provide greater flexibility in the forms of assessment and evidence that can be provided, but it also enables students to get feedback as soon as the tutor has left it, which decreases the time students wait to get feedback, particularly those who live in more remote areas.
This webinar will explore how OneNote Class Notebooks can be used as a blended learning solution within Further and Higher Education, not only to provide access to content in class and for revision, but also as an eportfolio, assessment tool and much more. The session will explore the advantages and disadvantages of using OneNote Class Notebook, examples of their use and tips and tricks for engaging learners (and staff!) in using the Class Notebook effectively. The session will also investigate how Class Notebooks can foster creativity and collaboration in learners and will look at current examples of practice from our organisation in how OneNote is being used successfully.
