Certified Membership of ALT (CMALT), is a peer-based professional accreditation scheme developed by ALT, which enable people whose work involves learning technology to have their experience and capabilities certified by peers, and to demonstrate that they are taking a committed and serious approach to their professional development.
As technology becomes ever more central to teaching, learning and assessment at all levels of education, the relevance of learning technology-specific accreditation increases. CMALT is an established and widely-respected framework that allows individuals to evidence their experience and understanding regardless of their job role or context.
ALT works across the education sector, with a membership spanning HE, FE, VET and commercial contexts, and CMALT is mapped to a number of complementary competency frameworks or courses, including the Blended Learning Essentials portfolio of free CPD courses for teachers, trainers and managers developing blended learning in FE and VET contexts.
In this session a number of CMALT Holders with a background in the FE sector come together to discuss their motivations for undertaking CMALT, their experience of compiling a portfolio evidencing their practice, and how the accreditation has helped in their professional development.
