Description
Challenges
- Students often feel isolated online
- Induction can be confusing and overwhelming, for both students and staff
- Potential students and alumni can often get lost from networking and marketing drives
Requirements
- A space for new students to come together, learn foundational skills and feel supported in their studies
- A space for potential students to explore what studying online with us is like
- A space for graduated students to stay in touch, network and share best practice
- A space to promote the programme and streamline current administration practices
- A space to welcome and induct new staff onto the programme
Solution
An open access online space in Moodle (The Clinical Trials Centre) which:
- showcases our online courses
- links directly to the application process
- explains and gives examples of online learning
- offers essential study skills
- allows users to contact us and us to contact them
- provides a discussion area among all students at all stages
- provides an area to introduce new staff and signposts to HR information
- brings together all members of the programme past and present for long term community building
- Allows us to meet QA standards from a University perspective
