Session Description
In 2019, London College of Fashion launched a new first year unit called Better Lives that introduces students to themes of diversity, social responsibility and sustainability in fashion. The unit is a compulsory component of student’s first year and is delivered to the entire cohort which is approximately 1400 students.
As part of this development and considering the large number and diverse nature of our student body, inclusive design was an important aspect to ensure students could access, navigate and comprehend the information and activities being presented to them.
Starting with the RASE pedagogical framework we mapped all the components of our online resources/activities and considered how we needed to adapt the visual nature, language and medium. In this talk we will give a quick overview of some of these considerations and how we integrated students into the design process.
