Description
Session Description
Whilst minds are focused on the Sept 23rd deadline for Public Sector Body Accessibility Regulations it is easy to forget is that disabled students are equally covered by other legislation. Unfortunately, some of the other legislation directly contradicts the requirements of the Public Sector Body Accessibility Regulations. This creates difficulties for organisations when dealing with the bulk accessibility improvements of inaccessible content.
This session unpacks the issues relating to bulk accessibility transforms and provides guidance for organisations to pick a path that maximises benefits for students as well as maximising the legal compliance of organisations.
Session content
The session unpacks the legal background, provides an opportunity for collaborative sharing of strategies that introduces new content in the form of the “maturity based” FACTS approach to accessibility statements ending with an opportunity for people to reflect on their own institutions’ accessibility statement.
