Conference dates and times

OER23 takes place from Tuesday, 4th April to Thursday, 6th April:

  • Day 1, 4th April: Pre-conference activities and GO-GN Day, social pre-conference meet up
  • Day 2, 5th April: Conference programme from 9:30am and evening social activity
  • Day 3, 6th April: Conference programme until 4:00pm and social post-conference meet up

Online activities on Discord will begin the week before the conference and our dedicated social space remains available for a month after the event.

Travel to UHI Inverness

OER23 takes places at UHI Inverness, 1 Inverness Campus, Inverness, IV2 5NA, UK. You can fly directly to Inverness airport, or travel by train or car. The best postcode for Satnav if you are driving, is IV2 5NA.

Staying in the City Centre? Inverness Campus can be reached easily by bus from Inverness, via services 2, 3, 3A, 5A, 5C, 6A. Buses run from outside the Eastgate Shopping Centre in the city centre, near to the train station, and take between 10 to 20 minutes to get to campus depending on which service you use.

Where to stay

We offer single room accommodation on campus (studio rooms are not available), and also recommend the nearby Premier Inn Inverness East hotel and the Travelodge Inverness hotel at Stonyfield which is located immediately behind Inverness Campus. Both are only a few minutes walk away. Please quote OER23 when making a reservation as we have rooms reserved for delegates.

To book studio student accommodation from £120 for 2 nights, please email student.accommodation@uhi.ac.uk and quote OER23 as reference. Bedding and towels are provided and breakfast is available on campus (student accommodation is self-catering).

For delegates who may prefer a city centre hotel, we recommend the Premier Inn Inverness City Centre on the River Ness, the Mercure Inverness or there are other Travelodge hotels in the area. Average weather conditions

OER23 takes place in a convenient campus location with all conference rooms near each other. In April, the average weather conditions are from 4-12 degrees Celsius, with 9 days of rain a month. Please check the weather forecast for the conference week and make sure to pack a warm, weatherproof jacket to make the most of the beautiful landscape surrounding the conference.
