New FELTAG report: The digital future for Further Education

The Further Education Learning Technology Action Group (FELTAG) report  was published today; the report looks at paths forward to a digital future for Further Education and Skills. Recommendations in the report are based on the work of the FELTAG group and an open conversation amongst the wider community.

The Association for Learning Technology (ALT)  and its members actively engaged in the FELTAG conversation. One activity that contributed was an open session at the 2013 Annual Conference in Nottingham. The session was led by members of FELTAG and participants at the conference also received a video messages by Matthew Hancock, MP, Minister for Skills, Department for Business, Innovation and Skills.

This open session enabled participants to offer ideas and provide feedback on key issues, including barriers to innovation, quality assurance and inspection, teacher training and development, capacity building and new technological developments.

As part of its involvement in FELTAG, ALT also supported the online conversation (http://feltag.org.uk/) where the wider community could make further recommendation and contribute to the conversation on Twitter using the hashtag FELTAG.
