Training staff to use Digital Assessment tools Webinar

Our first webinar of this Academic year “Training Staff to use Digital Assessments” was completed in November, you can review the whole webinar on the ALT youtube channel.

Thank you to our presenters:

Kimberly O’Brien and Maddie Kinnair for sharing Newcastle University’s approach to Synchronous and Asynchronous Training using Inspera Assessment for Digital Exams. Their experiences of the evolution of their training offer from identification of key stakeholders to actual use are very useful for anyone who is embarking on introducing a new tool to their institution, assessment related or not.

Natahsa Nakariakova and Yihua Huang presenting: Beyond Tools and Training: Cultural Transformation in Digital Assessment at the University of Warwick. Who made interesting use of shadowing within Microsoft Teams to understand how queries around assessment tool related issues play out in real time.

Martin Jenkins and Misrah Mohamed exploring the Scaling Digital Assessment at Coventry University: From Trial to Institutional Adoption. Their use of the Bower and Walker Phased Rollout Process Model to drive institutional adoption is particularly useful for anyone looking to scale the use of a tool from a departmental level to an institutional level.

Our next webinar will be on the 28th of January and will look at Digital Exams and Paper Script Scanning. We are delighted to share that Patrick Coates, CEO of the Electronic Assessment Association will be opening this webinar. If you are interested in speaking at this webinar you can complete the google form calling for speakers by the 12th of January. We are particularly looking for speakers on the following topics:

  • Accessibility and equity considerations of the adoption of paper script scanning.
  • Experiences of integrating script scanning technology with existing tools (e.g. Virtual Learning Environments).
